Chemical Technician Associate

Job Description :  About us  Huntsman is a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals.  Its operating companies manufacture products for a variety of global industries, including chemicals, plastics, automotive, aviation, textiles, footwear, paints and coatings, construction, technology, agriculture, health care, detergent, personal care, furniture, appliances and packaging.  Originally known for pioneering innovations in packaging and, later, for rapid and integrated growth in petrochemicals, Huntsman today has more than 12,000 employees and operates from multiple locations worldwide.  The Company had 2009 revenues of approximately $8 billion.  Huntsman has an immediate opening for a dynamic individual with proven capability as an Associate Chemical Technician in our Polyurethanes Regional Rigid Foams Group located at HuntsmanAdvancedTechnologyCenter in The Woodlands, Texas.   Key Accountabilities:  Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to precise preparation of chemical blends using drums and manual drum handling equipment, calibration, operation, troubleshooting and light maintenance of high-pressure foam metering/dispensing equipment.  Support development and deployment of new or modified technology in polyurethane chemicals designed for specific usage in appliances, doors, metal-faced panels and/or spray foam applications.  Work closely under the supervision of a technical supervisor.  Accurate and thorough laboratory recordkeeping.   Educational Requirements and Work Experience:  3+ years of lab experience in the Chemical industry or Associate degree in Science or Engineering discipline with 0+ year experience.  Experience in an application development laboratory/pilot plant or chemical plant production/maintenance environment preferred.  Special Requirements and Qualifications:  Proficiency in computer skills (Excel and MS Word).  Job duties require excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to routinely and safely lift 50 pounds.    Bi-lingual language skills are considered a plus.  Demonstrated aptitude in mathematics (algebra level) and mechanical proficiency.   Benefits  The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in a comprehensive benefits package, to include:  wages commensurate with experience, excellent health and dental plans, life insurance and pension plan.    Job Code : 1955  Exemption : Non-Exempt  Location : The Woodlands Advanced Technology Center Tx US 77381  Offer Relocation : No
